The political scientist commented on the saga of the loan for the national airline.

Political scientist Philipp Raevsky reacted on the social network X to the decision of the "green farmers" to block the provision of a state loan of 30 million to airBaltic: "If airBaltic is sunk just because someone is afraid to speak openly and fight for the fact that we keep this company because it is needed by Latvia, it will be a pity. If we look at the budget context, huge sums are being taken out of there. AirBaltic at least ensures Latvia's connection with other countries, which is vital for the competitiveness of Riga and Latvia." This remark provoked quite harsh comments: "Strange text. Against the backdrop of the fact that they do not find smaller sums for their residents who need money for medicines, but hundreds of millions are in the hole of airBaltic for years, yes. Does this seem normal to you? Don't you want to say this to the sick people right in their faces?!" "What does airBaltic do that cannot be done with the planes of other companies that are not subsidized by Latvian taxpayers?"
