At present, the Security Police (SP) has not identified any messages justifying terrorism, calls for participation in violent actions, or expressions of support for terrorist groups within the Muslim community in Latvia, the agency LETA was informed by the service.
The Security Police "continues to monitor the situation" in the Muslim community of Latvia in accordance with its competence.
The service notes that the level of terrorist threat in Latvia currently remains low, and the information at its disposal does not indicate that the situation may change in the near future.
As previously reported, the municipal police of Riga initiated an administrative process due to a mass prayer of Muslims on the sidewalk in Plavnieki. Some social media users expressed concerns about the possible emergence of radicalized Islamists in Latvia.
