Economist on the Harbingers of a Serious Economic Crisis
Economist Edgars Volskis, in an interview with Latvian Radio, called for immediate measures to stabilize fuel prices - as it is known, the cost of diesel fuel in Latvia has today exceeded 2 euros...
The economist believes that the government and the Saeima will soon have to "open" the budget and revise the expenditure part:
"There will be less money in the budget, so the question arises - what do we reduce? Correct - expenses. The government must make a decision to cut expenses. There are these long discussions about how optimizing the public administration system will lead to a slowdown in certain processes... But enough of the discussions - very, unfortunately, unpleasant decisions are needed. I think it’s time to quickly get to work. We don’t need to wait for summer," the economist noted.
