In early March, two women were shot - one in the Ritabully forest, the other in Imanta.
One bullet hit her back, another - her leg. The State Police have initiated criminal proceedings.
As reported by lsm.lv, a woman had to walk for a whole week with a bullet in her back. Why?
After the shot, she was in shock and even refused to go with the medics. However, the next morning, when the pain did not go away, she called for an ambulance.
The crew took her to Stradins Hospital, where they conducted an examination and found that there was a foreign body near her spine.
"A surgeon came and said that they did not have such a specialist and so on. He told me to go home. I was prescribed treatment and told that I should be under the supervision of my family doctor for a month," the woman recounts.
Her family doctor was concerned that the foreign body was large and located close to the spine, so it could not be left there. For the patient, this meant severe agonizing pain. It was not possible to obtain a comment from Stradins Hospital.
This week, the woman was admitted to the Riga Eastern Clinical University Hospital, where she underwent surgery on Wednesday.
"Thank you to Dr. Maurinsh and his assistant, who successfully operated on me and removed the foreign body measuring 2 centimeters and 3 millimeters," the woman emphasized.
