“The desirable profession in Latvia is becoming the specialty of ‘dividing project funds’” – this is reported by publicist Bens Latkovskis in Neatkarīgā.
“A news item has just emerged in the public space about the project "Safety and Freedom for Girls and Women in Uzbekistan" being implemented by the organization "MARTA Center".
First of all, it should be noted that the idea of promoting women's safety in Uzbekistan is not inherently bad. If someone finds this idea so important that they are willing to dedicate their time and resources to its promotion, that’s wonderful. Go ahead! It would even be nice if the state could contribute something.
The attitude changes completely if all this activity is funded and takes place far from us – in Uzbekistan, Vietnam, or Zanzibar.
The main thing is to be closer to warm countries, so that one can fly there, stay in a hotel, participate in a banquet, present their presentation, and receive a salary and travel expenses. The question is, what is all this for? Even if most of the money comes from Europe?
