CSDD issued 3.5% more driver's licenses last year

The State Road Safety Agency (CSDD) issued 16,507 new driver's licenses last year, which is 3.5% more than in 2024, according to the agency's summarized data, reports LETA.

This includes 8,381 licenses issued to women in 2025, which is 5.2% more compared to the same period last year, and 8,126 licenses issued to men, which is 1.9% more.

As of January 1 of this year, there were a total of 888,822 active driver's licenses in Latvia, which is 0.03% more than at the beginning of January 2024. Of these, 44.7% (397,734 licenses) were issued to women, and 55.3% (491,088 licenses) were issued to men.

In 2024, CSDD issued 15,947 driver's licenses, in 2023 - 16,355, in 2022 - 17,791, in 2021 - 15,687, in 2020 - 18,193, in 2019 - 18,643, in 2018 - 16,792, in 2017 - 19,373, in 2016 - 21,475, in 2015 - 21,608, and in 2014 - 21,226 licenses.
