Bear Ilzite from Ligatne invites you to celebrate her 25th birthday 0 21

On the bear's birthday at 12:00, a special festive treat is planned for her, while the guests of the event, that is, visitors to the Ligatne nature trails, will be served hot soup and tea. To make this day special, all Ilze and those born on January 11 will be able to visit the nature trails with a 50% discount, reports tv3.lv.

The society has been following Ilzite's life with great interest since her birth. The bear has appeared in documentaries and feature films, has been captured in the works of nature photographers, and delights hundreds of visitors to the Ligatne nature trails every day.

Unlike wild bears, Ilzite does not hibernate, so she can be observed year-round. In winter, the nature trails in Ligatne are open daily from 10:00 to 16:00.

Ilzite was born on January 11, 2001, in the Ligatne nature trails. At birth, she weighed only 500 grams, and now her weight is about 150 kilograms. Since her biological mother could not care for her, from the very first days, the animal caretaker Velga Vitola took care of the cub, becoming Ilzite's adoptive mother.

Ilzite is calm, reserved, and loves order — she adheres to a set daily routine and exhibits exemplary manners in eating and cleanliness in her enclosure. For bears living in captivity, 25 years is the age of strength and life experience. Therefore, Ilzite's anniversary is a special event for both the bear herself and for all those who have become part of the story of this extraordinary bear over the years.
