For 92% of women in Latvia, personal financial independence is important, and 38% of women are the primary breadwinners in their families — according to the results of the "Gender Equality Barometer" study.
The "Gender Equality Barometer Novatore" conducted this year shows that one-fifth of society — 21% — still believes that the position of a top-level manager is more suitable for men, while 12% of respondents are convinced that creating and managing their own business also aligns more with a male role.
At the same time, the research data indicates that 29% of women would like to start their own business; however, it is possible that negative societal attitudes and stereotypes hinder the realization of these intentions. Therefore, one of the central themes of the summit will be how to inspire and practically support women who wish to create and develop their own enterprises.
