On the generally gray Christmas, rays of sunshine will be visible in places, according to forecasts from the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre (LEGMC), writes LETA.
Although Christmas Day will be predominantly cloudy, there will be sunny clearings in places in the western and central regions between the clouds.
From the late morning hours, light precipitation is expected in the eastern part of the country — rain, with wet snow in places. A weak west, northwest wind will blow, which will strengthen in gusts to 15–17 meters per second along the coast after noon, and in the evening hours in the eastern part of the country. The maximum air temperature will range from 0 to +4 degrees, while in some places along the coast, the air will warm up to +5…+6 degrees.
In Riga, the day will also be cloudy, but significant precipitation is not expected. A weak west, northwest wind will blow, which will reach gusts of 15 meters per second after noon. The air temperature will rise to +2…+4 degrees.
