On the first day of Christmas, winter weather is not to be expected, according to forecasts from the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre (LEGMC), writes LETA.
On December 25, the sky will be cloudy, but the sun will occasionally peek through in the western and central regions.
In the eastern part of the country, light precipitation is expected at times — snow in the first half of the night, and rain and wet snow in the morning. In some places, the roads will be slippery.
A weak west to northwest wind will blow, with gusts reaching 15–17 meters per second along the coast in the afternoon and in the eastern part of the country in the evening.
At night, the air temperature in most areas will drop to +1…-3 degrees, and +1...+4 degrees along the coast. During the day, the maximum temperature will be 0…+4 degrees, with some places along the coast being a degree higher.
