The program "900 Seconds" (TV3) presented public opinion regarding the possible dismantling of railway tracks at the border with Russia and Belarus.

To the specific question of whether, in their opinion, the railway tracks at the border with Russia and Belarus should be dismantled, for example, in Zilupe, Karsava, Indra, nearly a third (32%) of Latvians aged 18 to 65 answered affirmatively (17% - "definitely yes", 15% - "probably yes").

At the same time, more than half (57%) of respondents do not consider the demolition of railway tracks at the border with Russia and Belarus necessary (20% - "probably no", 37% - "definitely no").

One-tenth (11%) of the residents of Latvia did not express a definite opinion on this issue.

When asked whether the decision to dismantle the railway at the border with Russia and Belarus should be uniform for all Baltic countries or if each should make it independently, more than two-fifths (46%) of Latvians aged 18 to 65 stated that the decision should be common for all three countries.

At the same time, 40% believe that each country should make such a decision independently of other Baltic states.

14% of respondents did not provide a specific answer to this question.
