By the decision of the Daugavpils City Council, adopted on November 27, changes to the current rules "On the Service and Use of Paid Municipal Parking" have been approved, reports Daugavpils satiksme. The amended rules will come into effect on January 1, 2026.
The main changes include:

Instead of the previous AD/BD zoning system, a unified tariff zone will be introduced. Paid parking spaces will now be available from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM on weekdays and from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Saturdays. Parking will be free on Sundays and public holidays.

The minimum fee will now be €0.50. The fixed hourly rate will be €1.00 per hour. A monthly subscription for any paid parking space will cost €30.00.

In case of violation, a late payment fine of €30.00 will be imposed. If the payment is made within 14 days of receiving the notification, the amount will be reduced by 50%.

In situations where a vehicle occupies more than one parking space, payment will be required for each occupied space.

A fee of €3.00 will be charged for issuing a free permit, according to the approved price list for paid parking. Applications for the free permit can be submitted starting January 1 by filling out a form. The free permit is issued for a period of up to 12 months.
Daugavpils satiksme emphasizes that the changes will be implemented to ensure a clearer and more efficient parking service system.
The enterprise urges residents to stay informed to ensure a smooth transition to the new system on January 1, 2026.
