The weekend will start without significant precipitation, forecasts from the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre (LEGMC) indicate, reports LETA.
Saturday will begin with drier weather, and light precipitation is expected only in some areas. In the morning hours, when the air temperature in most regions will still be below zero, some sections of the roads will be covered with ice. During the day, the air temperature in most of the country will warm up to only 0...+5 degrees. A light to moderate west wind will blow, gradually shifting to the south.
In Riga, the sky will gradually clear, the sun will appear, and light precipitation is possible only in the morning. A light south wind will blow, and the air temperature will not rise above +3...+4 degrees.
