On Saturday and Sunday, most of Latvia will see sunshine, meteorologists forecast.
On the night of Saturday, there will be brief rain and snow in many places, and icy conditions will form on the roads. During the day, brief precipitation is expected in some areas of Kurzeme and Vidzeme. On Sunday, precipitation is forecasted mainly only in Kurzeme.
During the weekend, wind gusts of up to 15–17 meters per second are expected along the coast. With clear skies, the air temperature at night and in the morning will drop to 0 to -6 degrees, but along the coast, it will remain warm at +2 to +6 degrees. The maximum air temperature will be between 0 and +5 degrees, reaching up to +7 degrees on the coast.
On Monday, a cyclone will approach from the southeast, bringing snowy clouds, and precipitation will mainly affect the eastern part of Latvia. Snow and rain are also possible throughout the next week. During the coldest nights, the air temperature may drop below -5 degrees in some places.
