The Latvian Hockey Federation (LHF) presented the new playing uniform for the men's national team, created by designer Haralds Apinis.
The uniform combines national traditions, modern style, and symbolism, including the text of the Latvian anthem.
"The new design removes the black color. Special attention is paid to the coat of arms of the Latvian national team — around it, in small print, is the text of the Latvian state's anthem," said Haralds Apinis.
The General Secretary of the LHF, Roberts Plāvejs, emphasized that the new design symbolizes continuity and unity in Latvian hockey: "The uniform is more than just equipment. It reflects the spirit of our team and the identity of the country. We are proud of how the Latvian national team looks and hope this design will inspire both players and fans. Every detail conveys respect for our country and hockey traditions."
This week, Latvian hockey players will participate in a friendly tournament in Germany, where, in addition to Latvia, the hosts Germany, as well as Slovakia and Austria, will compete. This tournament will mark the beginning of Harijs Vitolins' team's preparation for the Olympic Games in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, which will take place from February 6 to 22 next year.
