From Friday, October 31, until spring of next year, the speed limit on the Southern Bridge (Dienvidu tilts) will be reduced from 70 km/h to 50 km/h.
The reduction of the permissible speed on the Southern Bridge is an annual measure aimed at increasing road safety on the bridge's overpasses during the winter season.
The speed limit will apply to the section from the exit from Maskavas Street to Lubanas Street and in the opposite direction — from Lubanas Street to the exit from Piedrujas Street.
The restriction will remain in effect until spring of next year, and the municipality will provide additional notice before its cancellation.
The replacement of road signs is scheduled for Friday from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Vehicle owners are advised not to delay preparing their cars for the winter season: timely equip the vehicle with winter tires, replace the windshield washer fluid with antifreeze, and carry out other necessary work to ensure the car is ready for winter conditions and does not pose a danger to other road users.
