The National Council for Electronic Media (NEPLP) has banned access to nine more websites that spread Russian propaganda, some of which also conduct recruitment for participation in military actions against Ukraine, according to a statement in the official publication "Latvijas vēstnesis".

Access has been blocked to the websites "anadyr-adm.ru", "sz27.ru", "admsoln.ru", "доброволец27.рф", "infokom.khabkrai.ru", "warfiles.ru", "belrus.ru", "prosvet.ee/index2.aspx", and "interaffairs.ru".

NEPLP received information about all the aforementioned websites from one of the competent state authorities. Most likely, it is the State Security Service.

NEPLP notes that these websites systematically disseminate Russian military propaganda. The aim of the published content is to present the war in Ukraine in a favorable light for Russia, regularly justifying and glorifying the military crimes committed by it.

Such content on the websites may have a negative impact on the cohesion of Latvian society, interethnic relations, understanding of values, as well as the solidarity of the Latvian state and support for Ukraine regarding its independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders, NEPLP emphasizes.

The website "доброволец27.рф" also serves as a special platform for recruiting soldiers and their participation in military actions initiated by Russia against Ukraine. The websites "sz27.ru" and "admsoln.ru" also disseminate offers for signing contracts for service in the armed forces of Russia.

In turn, the website "prosvet.ee/index2.aspx" spreads information about Russian cultural heritage in Estonia, but, among other things, it disseminates biased Russian propaganda about the role of the President of Russia in "creating a new world order". The content of the website is aimed at forming a positive opinion about Russia and, conversely, a critical opinion about Estonia, as assessed by Latvian authorities.

NEPLP has already made similar decisions to restrict access to portals that spread Russian propaganda.
