The conflict between the family of the late Latvian basketball player Janis Timma and his ex-wife Anna Sedokova has taken a new turn. The athlete's family lawyer, Margarita Gavrilova, published an emotional statement criticizing the singer's remarks about her feelings after the death of her ex-husband.
The lawyer for Janis Timma’s family, Margarita Gavrilova, posted a sharp comment on her Telegram channel after Anna Sedokova's participation in the TV show "Master of the Game." The reason was the singer's words about how she struggled with the death of her ex-husband and faced negative reactions from society after the tragedy. In response, Gavrilova stated that after the athlete's death, Sedokova allegedly provided testimony to the investigation about her ex-husband's behavior.
"Four days after the tragedy, citizen Sedokova assured the investigation under protocol that she was a victim of abuse by her ex-husband, who terrorized her, threatened her, and even robbed her in her own home! But when investigators suggested she file a statement regarding this, the 'grief-stricken' widow responded with a generous refusal!" — wrote the lawyer.
Gavrilova also questioned the sincerity of the singer's public statements about her feelings after Timma's death.
"It turns out that a delicate and ringing soul deeply mourns the loss of a loved one! She was so deeply affected that immediately after the death of her 'loved one,' she poured a bucket of filth on him!" — the publication states.
Furthermore, the lawyer sharply criticized the ongoing public attention to Sedokova and her presence in the media space.
"Believe me, you are still a negative hero, and your name is perceived as a common noun!" — stated Gavrilova.
The publication also contains statements about the causes of the tragedy, reflecting the personal position of the athlete's family's lawyer.
"Stop pouring out pink snot — 'it was his choice,' 'it was out of great love,' and other nonsense! A person was destroyed not by love, but by the betrayal of someone he considered holier and closer than anyone else in the world!" — she wrote.
As of the publication, Sedokova had not commented on the lawyer's new statements.
The story of the relationship between the singer and Latvian basketball player remains a subject of public attention for several years. Anna Sedokova and Janis Timma got married in 2020. At the end of 2024, the couple officially divorced. After the divorce, news of the athlete's death emerged. His death was classified as suicide.
After the tragedy, a prolonged conflict began between Timma's relatives and Sedokova, which continues to this day. The basketball player's family, including his mother and ex-wife Sana Osha, had previously contacted law enforcement. Additionally, the relatives are trying to contest the marriage contract of the former spouses, according to which the property after the divorce went to Sedokova.
Legal proceedings in this case are ongoing.
While the parties continue to exchange accusations in the public space, final answers to the disputed questions are yet to be provided by the investigation and the court.
