The host of the legendary program 'In Search of Adventures' Mikhail Kozhukhov shared why he left the television world and what he is doing now. Since 2013, he has been leading the 'Travel Club', organizing author trips around the world.
Mikhail Yurievich started his career as a correspondent in newspapers. In 1994, he accidentally came to television — his colleagues needed consultation, and Kozhukhov stayed, initially working behind the scenes and then hosting programs and conducting interviews.
Fame came to him with the show 'In Search of Adventures' in 2002. According to Kozhukhov, the decision to host the show was driven by the desire to earn money and an interest in people and travel. He always filmed only what he found interesting and explained to viewers how to travel properly.
Kozhukhov notes that he never put himself in real danger for the sake of filming. The most uncomfortable for him was the Middle East, where he felt like an outsider.
The program ceased airing for 'human' reasons: a conflict with the producer and the need to humiliate himself daily led Kozhukhov to decide to leave.
'In order to stay on television, I will not step over myself. I had to humiliate myself daily throughout all the years I was producing the show! And at some point, the reserve was exhausted. I said: “Well, guys, if you don’t want to, what can I do? I don’t want to walk through your offices anymore! If you don’t want it — then fine!” I started doing something else. Since 2013, I have been heading my 'Travel Club', which organizes author trips around the world. I am absolutely satisfied with this!'
Mikhail Kozhukhov left television to preserve his dignity and engage in what truly interests him. Today, he is building a career in tourism, sharing his love for travel and unique experiences around the world.
