Colombian Farmer 'Harvested' - $600 Million of Pablo Escobar

In Colombia, a local farmer made one of the largest financial discoveries in the country's history. As reported by Global News, citing official sources, the incident occurred when the man was engaged in earthworks on his plot. While preparing the soil, he stumbled upon several large plastic containers filled to the brim with bundles of cash.

According to experts, the total amount of found funds is approximately $600 million. Such a significant volume of currency, hidden deep underground, immediately raised speculations about the origin of the 'treasure.' Law enforcement and historians lean towards the version that this money is part of the hidden assets of Pablo Escobar - the most famous drug lord in the world, who, at the height of his influence in the 1980s, controlled the majority of the global cocaine trade.

It is known that Escobar, possessing colossal income, systematically hid cash in various parts of Colombia, as he had no way to legally place all the funds in the banking system. Many of these hideouts remained unfound after his liquidation in 1993.

The farmer did not hide the discovery and immediately informed the police about the incident. The special services that arrived at the scene seized the containers for an official inventory. It is reported that the entire amount was transferred to the state's disposal. Authorities stated that the seized funds would be directed towards implementing social initiatives and economic development programs in the country.
