A factory producing aerosols is on fire in Charnów, Pomeranian Voivodeship, Poland. A black column of smoke is visible from many kilometers away, reports Polsat News.
Firefighting units have been dispatched to the scene. The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
"Workers who were on the premises have been evacuated," said Amadeusz Galus, press officer for the city police chief in Słupsk. He added that due to the danger, services evacuated residents from the surrounding area within a radius of 200 meters.
"There is a threat of explosion from the products manufactured at the plant and from pressurized tanks. Most units from the Słupsk County are being called to the scene," said Piotr Basarab from the Słupsk Fire Department in a conversation with the GP24 portal.
Due to the fire in Charnów and the possible presence of harmful substances in the air, the authorities of the Ustka community have appealed to residents.
"We ask you to stay at home and limit going outside to an absolute minimum. We recommend closing windows and doors, as well as turning off mechanical ventilation," the authorities stated.
