The London elite real estate market rejoices: the Candy house has broken all previous records, leaving behind a $210 million deal.
Breaking news from the world of elite real estate: famous British billionaire and developer Nick Candy has made a truly stunning deal! His luxurious London mansion was sold for an astonishing £270 million, which is equivalent to approximately $350–360 million, according to Bloomberg. This event not only became the most expensive residential property sale in British history but also ranks among the largest deals worldwide. The identity of the new owner is currently kept under strict secrecy, but it is known that several influential buyers competed for this unique property.
Unique Providence House
We are talking about the majestic Providence House — a true treasure of architectural heritage, comfortably located on the grounds of the prestigious Royal Hospital in Chelsea. Interestingly, this was once the site of the home of the first Prime Minister of Great Britain, Robert Walpole. The plot, sprawling over approximately two acres, offers incredible privacy in the heart of London. Its grounds are a true oasis with its own pond, lake, and even a swimming pool. Inside the mansion, authentic Georgian details are carefully preserved, transporting one to another era.

Ownership History and Family Circumstances
Initially, in 2012, this magnificent property was purchased by the businessman’s brother, Christian Candy, for around £75 million (or $99 million). Later, the mansion came into the possession of Nick, who spent several years there with his then-wife, famous actress Holly Valance. However, in 2025, their marriage ended, and several analysts suggest that this event may have been a key factor in the decision to sell such a large-scale property.
Previous Record
To appreciate the scale of this deal, it is worth recalling the previous record in the London elite real estate market. It was set in 2020 when a mansion in the prestigious Knightsbridge area, offering stunning views of Hyde Park, was sold for approximately $210 million. The buyer at that time was Xu Jiayin, chairman of the board of directors of the Chinese development company Evergrande.

The Candy Dynasty: Billionaire Developers
Brothers Nick and Christian Candy are rightly considered among the most influential and celebrated developers in the whole of the UK. Their combined fortune is estimated at a colossal £1.5 billion, which is about $2 billion! They built their empire by specializing in the sale of exclusive elite real estate both in London and far beyond. However, it was their iconic project One Hyde Park that brought them true worldwide fame — it is, without exaggeration, one of the most prestigious and luxurious residential complexes on the planet, home to the cream of the global business elite. Among its residents have been Russian oligarchs. For example, the former girlfriend of billionaire Alexander Ponomarenko, the ex-head of Sheremetyevo Airport, previously lived in this complex. Last year, she sold her apartment for $45.7 million, although she initially purchased it for a significantly higher amount — $80.6 million.
