“I heard you”: Oleg Deripaska responded to criticism of his idea for a 12-hour six-day workweek

The billionaire's idea to extend the workday sparked a storm of emotions online, to which the businessman reacted quite ironically.

Famous billionaire Oleg Deripaska, whose proposal for a 12-hour workday and six-day week to overcome the crisis has caused a huge resonance, has once again commented after a wave of criticism directed at him online. In response to the widespread outrage on social media, Deripaska reacted quite restrainedly, but with a touch of irony, in his Telegram channel: "I heard you... Work is not a wolf; it won't run away into the forest...".

It is worth reminding that the businessman’s initiative to introduce a six-day workweek indeed provoked a flurry of negative responses in the online space. Internet users did not remain indifferent, expressing their dissatisfaction: "Let him work more, who is stopping him? What do our salaries have to do with it?".

Presenting his project, Deripaska himself explained that the modern world has radically changed, and the current crisis is a consequence of "a heavy transformation: from the global opportunities we had to regional ones, with all sorts of restrictions." He strongly recommended switching to a new work schedule — "from eight to eight, including Saturday" — to accelerate overcoming this period of "transformation." The billionaire also emphasized that he personally knows dozens of people who have adhered to such a regime since the 90s.
