Doctor: cereal for breakfast is harmful due to its high sugar content.
Doctor Eric Verdin revealed the golden rule of breakfast that keeps a person full for a long time, thus preventing snacking on unhealthy foods. His words are quoted by the publication HuffPost.
"The worst thing you can eat is a bowl of cereal with orange juice," warned Verdin. This combination is harmful to the body due to its high sugar content. The golden rule of breakfast is to avoid sweets in the first meal, such as pastries or yogurt with fruit, the doctor explained.
Instead of these products, Verdin suggested consuming eggs, avocado, salmon, and whole grain bread in the morning. As a result, a person will get proteins, healthy fats, and fiber right away. The latter, according to him, is important for maintaining digestive health as it nourishes beneficial bacteria in the gut.
