Abandoned cars in the yard can affect the price of an apartment.
Parked cars in the yard can hinder selling an apartment at a higher price. Fedor Vylomov, an expert, spoke to the media about this non-obvious factor affecting housing prices.
According to the specialist's observations, rusty, broken, abandoned cars in the yard can influence the overall perception of the property, creating an impression of neglect and distress for the entire neighborhood, and becoming an additional psychological stop factor. "Such a visual background can repel potential buyers, even if the apartment is good," the expert explained. The condition of the environment can become a reason for negotiation and force the seller to lower the price by 15-20 percent.
The absence of cars in the yard is a request that remains popular among residents, the specialist notes. While eight to ten years ago, people were primarily interested in the living space when buying an apartment, now, in addition to square meters, the impression of the neighborhood is also evaluated. At the same time, abandoned cars are a sign of a comfortable parking situation. In yards where parking spaces are insufficient, abandoned vehicles are actively dealt with. Such artifacts are more often seen in neighborhoods of five-story buildings.
