Actor Shia LaBeouf was arrested by New Orleans police after a fight during Mardi Gras celebrations — the last day before the Catholic Lent. The 39-year-old actor faces two charges of simple battery. According to law enforcement, he was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday afternoon.
The incident occurred shortly after midnight near one of the bars in the city's French Quarter. In a police statement, it was reported that LaBeouf caused a disturbance and struck two men. The reasons for the conflict are still unknown. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor was in an incoherent state, despite his public statements about sobriety in recent years.
This is not LaBeouf's first conflict with the law. In December 2020, singer FKA Twigs sued him, accusing him of sexual assault, battery, and infliction of emotional distress. The case was settled in July 2025, with LaBeouf himself denying the allegations.
