Margarita Terekhova has been suffering from Alzheimer's disease for many years. The daughter of the 83-year-old actress, Anna Terekhova, shared the latest news about her mother's condition. According to her, the health status of the actress "corresponds to this disease."

"Mom is under the supervision of doctors," Anna said.

The actress urged fans to remember her mother with "kindness and joy," to rewatch her favorite films and performances featuring her. She noted that she receives many wishes for her mother's health and other wonderful words.

"I want to thank everyone who loves mom, remembers her works. Many people write to me with wishes for health, congratulations, and beautiful words. I read everything to mom, I always hug her when asked to hug," Anna said.

Margarita Terekhova starred in many well-known films, playing leading roles in "Mirror," "D'Artagnan and the Three Musketeers," "Running on Waves," and "A Dog in the Manger," "Pious Martha." The actress was married three times and has two children – daughter Anna and son Alexander.

In 2021, the actress's son, Alexander Terekhov, revealed that his mother had been under the care of a caregiver for many years.

"She has been living with an assistant for about 10 years, probably. It’s impossible without this. She lives in her apartment. It couldn’t be better with such a diagnosis; it can only get worse more gradually," Alexander said.

Even then, he mentioned that, in his opinion, his mother no longer recognized him.

"She hasn’t spoken for a long time, so it’s hard to tell whether she recognizes me or not. I think she hasn’t recognized me for a long time. Sometimes something flickers, a familiar image; apparently, she is trying to remember, but I think she doesn’t," Alexander reported.

Alzheimer's disease began to progress in Margarita Terekhova from the mid-2000s. In 2024, media reports emerged that Margarita Terekhova was hospitalized with internal bleeding. Anna Terekhova confirmed that her mother was admitted to the hospital. Doctors were able to stabilize the actress's condition, and she was discharged home.
