The periodically visiting doubts of the artist are the reason to move forward and upward, towards a more confident self.
“I often seem to myself a ridiculously small person, who has achieved nothing and lives for no apparent reason.” Such words were spoken in an interview by Leonid Barats. The actor is still unsure whether he understands cinema or theater better. The former is more complicated because he has to listen to directors, each with their own perspective on what is happening. And a new film is a new experience. In theater, he seems to understand and can do more. But these periodically visiting doubts are the reason to move forward and upward, towards a more confident self.
54-year-old Leonid Barats lived with his first wife for 24 years. The couple became parents to two charming daughters, but this long-term idyll turned out to be largely superficial.
Leonid Barats, one of the founders of “Quartet I,” met his first wife while studying at GITIS, and in 1991, the young couple got married. Actress Anna Kasatkina was always by her beloved's side. For a time, the couple lived in an apartment with holes in the walls, through which one could easily peek into the neighbors' homes. Three years after the wedding, the family welcomed a new addition, and nine years later, Lisa had a little sister, Eva.

Kasatkina not only took care of the children but also frequently appeared in her husband's projects. For instance, she played a secretary in “The Day of Radio” and the wife of Barats' character in the film “What Men Talk About.” The year 2015 became a turning point for Leonid and Anna – they married off Lisa and then shocked fans with the news of their divorce. As the artist later admitted, his devoted muse's patience came to an end due to his latest affair.
“I found it very hard to cope with the divorce. And this event will always weigh on my conscience. But I still love Anya very much – as a friend, as a person,” the artist confessed in one interview.
The very beauty for whom the actor risked everything was also named Anna. They met at a resort when neither of them was free. Unfortunately, Leonid Barats and Anna Moiseeva never managed to build a strong family. Their relationship was not saved by marriage or even the birth of their son Mark. To be precise, the decision to part ways was made even before the baby was born. As it turned out later, Anna wanted to stay in Odessa, while Leonid, for obvious reasons, could not leave Moscow.
“It was Lenin's initiative. Everything had long been heading towards a final point, as it is very difficult to maintain a family when torn between two countries. Anya never decided to move to Moscow, and he, of course, would not go to live in Kyiv. A guest marriage has outlived its usefulness,” the actor's colleagues noted.
