In China, an 87-year-old artist married a 37-year-old woman and became a father.
Famous Chinese artist Fan Zeng became a father at 87 and severed ties with his older children. This was reported by the South China Morning Post.
The master of traditional Chinese painting, whose works have earned him over four billion yuan (about 45.6 billion rubles) in total, announced the birth of his heir. The mother of the child, 37-year-old Xu Meng, is 50 years younger than her husband. In his statement, the master emphasized that this is his "only biological child."
The news that his wife gave birth to a son was accompanied by the artist's decision to fully entrust his young wife Xu Meng with the management of family affairs and to cut ties with his children from previous marriages. "I have entrusted my beloved wife Xu Meng with the management of all internal and external family affairs from now on. Others have no right to interfere," said Fan Zeng.
Earlier, the artist's daughter Fan Xiaohui accused her stepmother of isolating their father and secretly selling his works, earning two billion yuan (about 26 billion rubles) from it. The artist's spokesperson issued a denial of her claims.
The couple got married in April 2024, having met when Xu Meng was a radio host interviewing the artist. She later became his assistant.
