Cardiologist: to prevent arrhythmia, one should eat bananas and dried apricots.
Candidate of Medical Sciences, cardiologist Evgeny Kokin, explained which foods can stabilize heart rhythm and revealed how even small doses of alcohol affect the functioning of this organ.
The doctor stated that diet directly influences the heart. To prevent arrhythmia, he advised Russians to consume foods rich in potassium and magnesium, such as bananas, avocados, nuts, spinach, buckwheat, or dried apricots.
Kokin also recommended including sources of omega-3 fatty acids in the diet, which reduce inflammation and strengthen the heart muscle: salmon, mackerel, flaxseeds, and walnuts. Additionally, according to the doctor, it is important to consume sufficient whole grains and vegetables, as they help maintain stable blood sugar and cholesterol levels, thereby positively affecting heart and vascular health.
At the same time, Kokin recommended refraining from alcohol, as even small doses can provoke disruptions in heart function. "Caffeine and energy drinks accelerate the rhythm and increase heart excitability, while excess salt and fats retain fluid, raise blood pressure, and increase the load on the myocardium," he added.
