Astronomer Bogachev: the strongest flare since late September occurred on the Sun.
Astronomer Sergey Bogachev registered the strongest flare since late September on the Sun. The maximum radiation from the solar explosion of level M5.0 was recorded on November 3 at 12:11 Riga time. "This is the strongest solar event since September 28, when an M6.4 flare occurred," the astronomer added.
Currently, scientists are observing the formation of a large coronal mass ejection, the center of which is currently directed away from Earth but is approaching the planet. "Unless the plasma was ejected at very high angles, the solar material will pass by," the scientist emphasized.
It was previously reported that strong flares resumed on the Sun after a two-week break. On Sunday, November 2, from 02:26 to 02:37 Latvian time, an M1.0 flare was observed on the eastern edge of the star.
