People who say "Why not in the state language?" are leading our country to civil war," said Ukrainian singer Anastasia Prykhodko.
"Well, dear friends, I am returning all my Russian-language repertoire," wrote Anastasia and recalled the title of her song "Bezotvetno," which she performed with Valery Meladze. Moreover, the singer announced that she plans to perform all her old songs.
The singer's father is Russian, originally from Rostov-on-Don, miner Konstantin Rybalov (1966); her mother is Ukrainian, journalist Oksana Mikhailovna Prykhodko. Her older brother, Nazar Prykhodko (born 1985), is also a singer, graduated from the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts with a degree in "stage director and mass performances," and in 1996 performed a duet with José Carreras in Spain. He writes poems and songs in Russian and Ukrainian. Anastasia Prykhodko's great-great-grandfather was Japanese, her grandfather, Mikhail Nikitich Prykhodko, was a participant in the Great Patriotic War, awarded the medal "For the Capture of Berlin" and signed his name on the wall of the Reichstag. She presented the song "Za tebe znov," the Russian version of which "Vso za tebya" was performed on "Fabrika Zvezd-7" of the Russian First Channel in 2007: the jury announced not only the disqualification of the song but also Prykhodko's exclusion without the right to replace her. Anastasia tried to contest her disqualification and even sued the National Television and Radio Company of Ukraine. After one of the jury members of the Russian national selection suggested her song, Prykhodko became the 16th participant in the Russian final selection, which took place on the air of "First Channel." Her principled desire was to perform the song in two languages — Russian and Ukrainian. Having received the highest number of votes (25%) in the public phone and SMS voting, as well as receiving six votes from the jury against five, the singer earned the right to represent Russia at Eurovision with the Russo-Ukrainian composition "Mamo." At the end of March, a music video for this song was filmed in Kyiv under the direction of Alan Badoev and operator Yaroslav Pilunsky. Prykhodko performed in the final of "Eurovision-2009," held in Moscow, and based on the voting results, she took eleventh place in the competition. Immediately after the singer's participation in Eurovision, her collaboration with Konstantin Meladze came to an end.
