Two tourists were struck by lightning at Humphreys Peak in the U.S.
Two tourists climbed to the summit of a mountain in the United States and were struck by lightning. This was reported by The New York Post (NYP).
On October 21, the two men, who did not know each other, one of whom is a resident of Canada, found themselves at the peak of Humphreys in Arizona. They decided to take commemorative photos during the approaching storm. As a result, the travelers who were photographing were struck by lightning.
The victims remained conscious and contacted the rescue service themselves. Rescuers were unable to use aviation due to bad weather and went to the trail in off-road vehicles. One tourist was immobilized and was transported to the vehicle on a stretcher. The travelers were then hospitalized at a local hospital. It is noted that in the United States, lightning kills about 20 people each year.
