Israeli documents seemed insufficiently reliable to the star.
Journalist, blogger, and socialite Ksenia Sobchak has applied for a residence permit (RP) in Spain for herself and her eight-year-old son, reports the Spanish newspaper El País.
According to the publication, France granted Sobchak a five-year visa allowing her to travel within the Schengen Area, after which she arrived in Spain to apply for the RP.
The journalist has been approved for a residence permit in Spain for three years, until 2028, under the "Digital Nomads" program. The channel claims that Sobchak has already registered in the country as a sole proprietor, but has not yet physically collected her residency card. At the same time, El País states that her application "is still under review."
"The 'Digital Nomad' RP will allow Sobchak to legally live in Spain and work remotely for foreign companies, as well as freely travel within the Schengen Area with family members, including parents (such a RP gives the 'nomad' the right to relocate their family)," writes the Telegram channel "Zhaba i Gadyuka."
The journalist herself has not commented on the information regarding her obtaining RP in Spain.
In April 2022, the Israeli portal Haaretz reported that Sobchak had obtained Israeli citizenship. According to the publication, her current husband, director Konstantin Bogomolov, received it several years prior. Sobchak's mother, senator Lyudmila Narusova, stated at that time that she knew nothing about her daughter's acquisition of Israeli citizenship. "She was in Israel, went there for medical reasons," she said.
