Latvian pianist, singer, and composer Katrina Gupalo has released the single “Summer Wind,” created in the land of eternal summer in Vietnam, where the musician spent 9 months.
“In August of last year, I turned a new page in my life and moved to Saigon — perhaps the most dynamic and energetic city in the world at the moment. Additionally, I had the opportunity to get to know Seoul, Tokyo, and Bangkok. During this time, my soul was filled with countless incredibly beautiful and thrilling adventures: a night in the middle of the jungle, where exotic animals run across the roof of a small windowless house, dawn in a fishing village where oysters are caught and it feels like time has stopped, mountains and the turquoise South China Sea, futuristic cities with oceans glowing with neon lights, and, most importantly, — incredibly warm and wonderful people. This is what the new song is about — there is so much in the world to discover, explore, and experience, but most importantly — to do it in the right company. Traveling frees you from unnecessary things and emotional baggage that prevent you from enjoying life, leaving only what is most valuable,” says the song's author Katrina Gupalo.
Artificial intelligence did not participate in the creation of the song; it was written by real musicians — co-author and music producer Edgars Vilkanсs, guitarist Armans Varalavans, backing vocalists Signe Aizupiete and Janis Aizupietis, as well as Vietnamese trumpeter Nguyen Chung and Ukrainian musicians — saxophonist Yaroslav Larchikov and trombonist Dmitry Tereshchenko.
Katrina Gupalo's summer concerts will take place from July 2 to August 22 across Latvia.
