Oscar winner Michael Douglas, who previously announced his retirement from acting, will once again appear on the big screen. The reason for his return is a new project by director Oliver Stone titled "White Lie."
Last year, Douglas stated that he had consciously taken a break after decades of intense work and had no plans to return to the set. However, an offer from Stone changed his plans. For the actor, this became an opportunity to work again with the director with whom he created the iconic film Wall Street, which earned him an Oscar.
The new film will be the first collaboration between Douglas and Stone in the last 16 years, following the release of the film "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps." The director describes the film "White Lie" as a personal and emotional story about family, love, loss, and relationships between generations.
The lead role in the film is played by Josh Hartnett. His character is a man who unwittingly repeats the mistakes of his parents in his own family life. In search of a way out of a life crisis, he embarks on a journey that leads him to an unexpected re-evaluation of himself and his relationships with others.
In addition to Douglas, the cast includes Willem Dafoe, Ellen Barkin, Leila George, and Homer Grier. Filming took place in Europe and Asia and has already been completed.
The premiere date has not yet been announced, but the return of Michael Douglas and his new collaboration with Oliver Stone is already being called one of the most notable events in the film world in recent months.
