The French production company Iconoclast has acquired the rights to the book "A Grab at the Louvre," in which three journalists from Le Parisien, Le Monde, and Paris Match describe the theft of jewelry from the Louvre, based on secret documents and investigation materials.
A feature film will be made based on the book, directed by Romain Gavras, known for his music videos for M.I.A., Kanye West, and Jay-Z, as well as the comedy "The Sacrifice" (2025). The film is scheduled for release in 2028. A British producer, whose name has not yet been disclosed, has also acquired the rights to the same book and plans to create a documentary series.
Recall that in October of last year, two masked robbers broke into the Louvre, smashed display cases, and stole eight historical treasures worth approximately €88 million. The jewelry has not yet been found, and several suspects have been detained.
