On June 18 at 17:00, the summer cottage of Rainis and Aspazija in Jurmala invites you to celebrate the eve of the summer solstice. Together with the folklore group "Mare," guests will be able to sing songs about the summer solstice, participate in games, and craft an oak wreath, while the flower path created in the garden and the orienteering game will allow adults and children to get acquainted with the plants featured in the works of Rainis and Aspazija and feel the atmosphere of anticipation for the solstice.
In Latvian tradition, the anticipation of the summer solstice has always held special significance – it is a time of nature's flourishing, when people begin to prepare for the celebration. This year, the garden of the summer cottage of Rainis and Aspazija will also be filled with the sounds of kokle, Livonian songs, and the aromas of summer herbs and flowers.
This year, special attention will be given to singing. The folklore group "Mare" will invite visitors to a creative circle, where participants will sing songs about the summer solstice, play games, and collectively create a festive atmosphere. The songs will be varied so that everyone can find their own.
For those who prefer a more tranquil atmosphere, a walk along the flower path will be offered, which will meander through the garden of the summer cottage. The path will be complemented by an orienteering game for adults and children, which will provide an opportunity to get acquainted with the plants mentioned in the works of Rainis and Aspazija.
