В Латвии впервые будет показан анимационный фильм, специально адаптированный для слепых детей

Today, on International Children's Day, a children's animated film with audio description for people with visual impairments will be shown in cinemas for the first time, reported LETA representative of the Syncmer studio Mairita Jaunashane.

The charitable project "Syncmer" is being implemented in collaboration with the "Forum Cinemas" theater. The animated film "Bamsis and the Island of Volcanoes" will be screened at the cinema, specially adapted for blind children and families with visually impaired children. The film "Bamsis and the Island of Volcanoes" is a story about friendship, courage, and helping others, the project organizers report.

Audio description helps people with visual impairments understand the visual content of the film by describing the action, setting, and other important details between dialogues. The project organizers note that this will allow children with visual impairments to fully enjoy watching films in the company of family and peers.

Representatives of Syncmer emphasize that the goal of the project is not only to provide accessible film screenings but also to draw public attention to the importance of an inclusive environment and the need to make cultural content accessible to all children.

"Through this charitable project, we want to encourage people to think more broadly about accessibility and create an environment where no child is left unnoticed," say representatives of Syncmer.
