Starting in June, visiting the Latvian National Museum of Art and its branches will become more expensive. On average, ticket prices will increase by 15–25%, but visitors will be offered a new annual subscription and the discount system will be maintained.
The Latvian National Museum of Art (LNMA) is introducing new ticket prices across all its structural units.
The museum explains that the changes will affect both regular admission tickets and individual museum services. On average, the cost of visiting will increase by 15–25%.
According to the new price list, an adult visitor will have to pay 15 euros for a combined ticket to the main building of the LNMA and the Art Museum "Riga Stock Exchange."
A ticket for just the permanent exhibition will cost 7 euros, while visiting major temporary exhibitions will cost 10 euros.
Prices will also change at other branches. A combined ticket to the Museum of Decorative Arts and Design will cost 12 euros, and visiting the Roman Suta and Alexandra Belcova Museum will cost 5 euros.
Family tickets will also become more expensive. For one adult with children, the cost will be between 10 and 12 euros, while for two adults with children, it will range from 16 to 20 euros, depending on the chosen museum.
The changes will affect not only visitors but also tenants of museum premises and some educational programs.
At the same time, the museum is launching a new annual subscription system.
What is important to know: the new subscription will allow unlimited access to all four museum branches for a year. For adults, the cost will be 70 euros, while for schoolchildren, students, and pensioners, it will be 35 euros.
For those who regularly attend exhibitions and cultural events, this option may be more cost-effective than purchasing individual tickets.
Despite the price increase, the discount system will remain in place.
A 50% discount will continue to be available for schoolchildren, students, pensioners, people with a III group disability, and holders of the "Honorary Family" card.
Free entry will remain available for children and visitors with I and II group disabilities.
Additionally, the museum will maintain another popular opportunity for free visits. On the last Sunday of each month, permanent exhibitions in all LNMA branches will be accessible without purchasing a ticket.
Thus, while the cost of visiting the museum will increase, discount programs and free days will remain available for a significant portion of visitors.
