Events for International Children's Day to be Held in Riga 0 14

The program of festive events dedicated to Children's Day in Vermanes Garden will begin at 10:30. The program includes various entertainment, a live music concert featuring "Ukulele" with singer Anniya Putniņa and the character Dieziņš, as well as dances with giant puppets.

From 11:00 to 16:00, the 118th children's festival titled "Be Safe!" will take place at the Ziemelblazma Culture Palace park. There will be 20 creative and educational booths in the park. At the booth called "Live Green," children will have the opportunity to create their unique artwork from recycled PET bottles. Young visitors will also be able to participate in a painting workshop with teachers from the Māra Muižniece Art School, listen to stories in the "Fairy Tale House," showcase their knowledge about their homeland, or demonstrate their road safety skills.

The event will honor foster families and centers for out-of-home care that support foster parents.

This year, special attention will be given to various safety issues: together with the Road Traffic Safety Directorate, participants will learn safe bicycle riding, with the Red Cross, they will master first aid, and the State Fire and Rescue Service will demonstrate its technical equipment.

The stage program will feature performances by students from the "Blazminya" preschool educational institution, the children's vocal ensemble "Narinya," the vocal ensemble "Karameles," and the children's and youth dance group "Bitite." At 16:00, performances by the winners of the regional children's and youth vocal competition "On the Way to the Big Stage" are scheduled.

In the courtyard of the "Ilguciems" cultural center, the event "As if from a Magical Fairy Tale, Summer Has Arrived!" will take place.

Families with schoolchildren, as well as others who want to get to know the surroundings of Ilguciems better, will be able to participate in the orienteering game "Walking Orienteering in Ilguciems."

As part of the celebration, there will be a concert featuring the children's and youth vocal ensemble of the Pardaugava Cultural Association "You and Me" and the pop group "Ildzeni," with magician Dante Pecolli hosting the event and demonstrating magic tricks.

During the event, there will be opportunities to play board games, participate in creative workshops, and various relays.

Throughout the day, from 11:00 to 18:00, the "Children's Day Festival 2026" will take place at Dome Square with concerts, educational workshops, attractions, games, and experiments. As in previous years, children along with their parents will be able to acquire various practical life skills, observe experiments and demonstrations from "Laboratorium," and participate in a board game tournament. A concert program is also scheduled throughout the day.

At the "Small Guild" cultural center, a concert titled "Stories of the Sun and Moon" will take place at 12:00 featuring the children's and youth vocal ensemble "Kolibri."
