Just after the premiere of "The Devil Wears Prada 2," discussions about a continuation of the cult project began online. There is a possibility that a third installment will happen — and quite possibly soon (at least, not in 20 years).
Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci admitted in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that they would not be opposed to a third installment of the film. Streep and Tucci jokingly added that they hope, "they won’t wait another 20 years." Blunt is also interested in a continuation, especially since she feels that she and Tucci have "unfinished business" within the franchise, as they "didn't have enough scenes together." However, the actress believes that a new film is unlikely to come quickly: "We believe that time should pass between such films." Hathaway is also optimistic. "I feel like this story can still be developed," she said, adding that a clearer understanding will come after the release of the film.
