Paul McCartney Announces 18th Solo Album

Legendary musician Paul McCartney has announced the release of a new solo album titled The Boys of Dungeon Lane. The record will be his 18th in his solo discography and is set to be released on May 29, 2026.

The artist's new work is described as one of the most personal in his career. It is based on memories of his childhood spent in Liverpool, long before global fame and the era of The Beatles. The album's title refers to a real place — Dungeon Lane in the Speke area, where the musician spent his early years.

Along with the announcement, McCartney presented the lead single Days We Left Behind. According to the artist himself, it is a "memory song" reflecting on the past and the years lived. It is a line from this composition that gave the album its title.

The record includes 14 tracks, among which are As You Lie There, Lost Horizon, Ripples in a Pond, and Momma Gets By. Musically, the album combines different stages of McCartney's creativity — from the characteristic motifs of The Beatles era to the later sound of his solo projects and the band Wings.

The work on the album took several years — recordings took place in Los Angeles and Sussex, England, during breaks between concerts. The producer was Andrew Watt, who has previously collaborated with major stars of the global stage.

The new release will be McCartney's first full-length solo album in more than five years since McCartney III (2020) and will continue his creative line related to personal history, nostalgia, and reflection on the past.

Alongside his musical activities, work continues on a large-scale film project — a series of biographical films about The Beatles directed by Sam Mendes. Their premiere is scheduled for 2028.
