The capital of Lithuania, Vilnius, will host the fourth Pink Soup Festival, which will take place from May 29 to May 31.
The festival program proves that cold soup can be tasted in various and even unexpected variations, attracting both gourmets and lovers of bright experiences. This year, festival guests will be able to try cold soup in its classic form as well as in innovative restaurant interpretations.
An adrenaline rush will be provided by the main attraction of the festival — a 50-meter pink foam slide. The festive program will be complemented by a themed costume parade featuring dancers and an orchestra, as well as a waiter race with bowls of soup. Additionally, a 10.5-kilometer hike is planned, which will traverse the entire city engulfed in the festival.

...Lithuanian cold soup, or šaltibarščiai, is first mentioned in written sources back in the 18th century, during the times of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. Its main ingredients — red beets, cucumbers, dill, and kefir — have remained unchanged for centuries. In recent years, cold soup has experienced a renaissance not only in the Baltic region but has also gained international recognition.
Thanks to its bright pink color and healthy ingredients, this soup has become an Instagram favorite. Šaltibarščiai ranked second in the list of the best cold soups in the world according to the prestigious gastronomic guide Taste Atlas. Latvian cold soup also made it to this ranking.
