Музей Yves Saint Laurent в Марракеше

The exhibition is dedicated to the costumes and set designs created by Yves Saint Laurent for theater, ballet, and musicals.

The Yves Saint Laurent Onstage exhibition at the Yves Saint Laurent Museum in Marrakech, which opened on January 31, presents a lesser-known side of the couturier's biography, dedicated to his work in the performing arts.

...When Yves was 13 years old, he discovered his passion for theater, musicals, and ballet. This early fascination, which often remained in the shadow of his work in high fashion, is the focus of the exhibition at mYSLm. It reflects Saint Laurent's view of clothing as a second skin, emphasizing movement and conveying character.

The exhibition features sketches by the designer, original costumes created by the Karinska workshops, set designs, and rare archival materials, including those that tell about the couturier's collaboration with iconic figures such as Roland Petit for "Cyrano de Bergerac," Zizi Jeanmaire and her Truc en plumes, as well as French stage icons like Sylvie Vartan and Johnny Hallyday.

The exhibition will run until January 5, 2027.
