Among the most anticipated films are the satirical thriller "The Pruning of the Rosebushes" by Karim Aïnouz starring Riley Keough, Callum Turner, and Elle Fanning, as well as the psychological drama "Josephine" by Beth de Araújo featuring Channing Tatum.

Also competing for the Golden Bear will be films such as "On the Shore" by Cornel Mundruțiu, "Rosa" by Markus Schleinzer, and "Queen of the Sea" by Lance Hammer featuring Juliette Binoche. The competition will also include new works by past laureates: "Dao" by Alain Gomis, "Flies" by Fernando Eimbcke, and "My Wife is Crying" by Angela Schanelec.

In addition, the competition program will feature the animated film "New Dawn" by Yoshitoshi Shinomiya (artist of "Your Name" from 2016) and the documentary jazz film "Everyone is Crazy About Bill Evans" by Grant Gee. The "Perspectives" section, dedicated to debut feature films, will showcase 13 films, including the western "Prayer for the Dying" by Dara Van Duesen and the drama "Animol" by Ashley Walters.

This year, the festival is led by artistic director Trisha Tuttle. According to her, the program brings together works by renowned directors, politically charged cinema, deep character studies, and numerous Hollywood stars.

The Berlinale will take place from February 12 to 22, with the jury headed by German director Wim Wenders.
