Dolphins are likely not afraid of sharks.
Most dolphins are smaller than large sharks and do not have such intimidating teeth. However, dolphins possess high speed, maneuverability, and, most importantly, exceptional mental abilities that allow them to act cohesively. Even large sharks become vulnerable to simultaneous ramming attacks from dolphins, which can strike from different angles. In a confrontation with a powerful and well-armed orca, sharks stand no chance, even if they fight one-on-one.
Nevertheless, sharks do not fear dolphins and, when the opportunity arises, may attack them, especially those that are isolated from the pod, such as sick individuals or females with calves.
