In the American state of Florida, an unusual puppy of the "golden retriever" breed was born in a dog kennel. Its fur turned out to be bright green, reports Fox News.
The puppy was named Shamrock, which translates from English as "three-leaf clover." This green symbol is associated with Ireland.
According to the owner of the kennel, Carol DeBruyler, Shamrock was exposed to biliverdin—a green bile pigment—while in his mother's womb, which colored his fur. Although such cases are rare, they do occur among puppies.
Dog breeders note that the green color of the fur poses no health risks and usually disappears on its own within a few weeks, as stated in the report.
