Scientists have discovered the scent of ants. This is significant!

Ants are insects known to many. However, few consider that these tiny creatures can pose a danger.

However, researchers claim that many species of ants emit strongly scented chemical compounds. These substances are released in moments of anger, when threatened, or when crushed. This is reported by Ferra.

For example, bulldog ants, when experiencing anger and irritation, emit a scent reminiscent of chocolate; citronella ants exude a lemony smell; house ants “smell” like blue cheese or rancid coconuts. Many species release formic acid.

Wood ants spray an acetic substance from their venom gland onto their prey or onto a person who attacks them. Upon dying, they release oleic acid, which makes the dead insect smell like a freshly prepared salad.
