In the case of a negative decision, the pet may be kept permanently, and the former owner will be prohibited from acquiring new animals. Confiscated pets may remain in the shelter or be transferred to new owners.
According to the publication, confiscation of dogs in Germany most often occurs due to aggressive behavior, especially after bites. Following a complaint, the animal may be confiscated, and in serious cases, even euthanized. It is worth noting that in most cases, owners have the right to appeal the confiscation decision in court, and such cases usually end in favor of the owner due to errors in the processing of administrative documents.
